Ethical Goals
Here at Tricky Clothing we are committed where possible to using 100% organic cotton or salvaged/recycled materials. Working with our supply chain we aim to bring affordable eco-friendly fashion to the marketplace. All of our t-shirts are 100% organic cotton produced in a FAIRWEAR factory, meaning the staff that work there are paid a fair wage for their service. The factory is independently audited each year to ensure the FAIRWEAR standards are met.
We only use water based inks in our printed garments and the process has achieved the highest standard of accreditation :
"the OEKO-Tex® accreditation of Class-I, which is the most demanding (and harder to achieve) certificate and covers eco friendly textiles (direct contact with the skin) for babies and small children up to the age of three."
This means our t-shirts and sweaters/hoodies are vegan friendly.
Where some of our supply chain are unable to supply items that follow this criteria, we donate 10% of the profits of sales on those items to our chosen charity. The charities change every year and the items that contribute to those funds are marked in their product description.
OCEAN FRIENDLY
We have taken every step possible to try and reduce the impact our brand has on the environment. We have managed to source a plastic free garment bag that is bio-degradable and ocean friendly. Using ground breaking technologies that combine the positive attributes of single-use plastics (strength, transparency & durability), whilst causing no harm to the environment. They are made from Hydropol™, a unique technology developed by a leading UK company. Conventional plastic garment bags are hydrophobic (they fail to mix with water), and take decades to degrade into smaller pieces of toxic micro plastics. Hydropol™ however is hydrophillic (it dissolves in water), dissolving in over 66 degrees Celcius. Our bags are completely biodegradable within 12 months, leaving behind nothing harmful at their end of life cycle.
It looks like plastic and protects like plastic, but with zero end of life problems.
Where we are not able to use the Hydropol™ bags we use 100% recyclable bags so that our customers can continue to help us do our part for the planet.
